Embroidery Sampler

Time to share some more sampler pics from my stitchalong project.  So many of you have mentioned that you would like to maybe try hand embroidery.  I think the only thing I have every actually been shown (and not just figured out myself) was a french knot, which my grandma showed me.  And I didn't have a huge interest in doing any embroidery until I found the book Doodle Stitching (by the way, the author even has an etsy shop where she sells patterns!).  I learned that you don't need to use tiny threads like I had always thought, and you don't need those old lady patterns they sell at the craft store, you can doodle your own!  Or use other peoples doodles if you don't doodle yourself.   So here are some more squares, I need to fill in the border in some spots, but I only have a few squares left to go!
I doodle my ideas in by pencil.  Here is an example of some squares coming up.

So cute! I would never have the patience for that. I like instant gratification. :) I enjoy seeing your work though.
BTW, I finished my butterfly/paper bag wreath! You can check it out here: http://myheelsarehigherthanyours.blogspot.com/2010/03/my-paper-bag-wreath.html

Those are too cute!! I have never been all that interested in embroidery, because of the "old lady patterns", but this idea really appeals to me, I love doodling!! BTW, been following your blog for a couple of weeks, LOVE IT!!

Oh your piece is sooooo delightful! I love the little mushrooms and the tree especially! Are you going to make a pillow with it when you are done? It would be darling! :) Hugs, Tamara
