Do I have to mention that the built-in needle threader makes everything a lot easier? The max speed of this machine is 1,000 stitches per minute.

There is also a hands-free presser foot and a programmable needle up/down. However, let’s talk about my favorite features in detail.

I love Babylock embroidery machines and sergers. However, their sewing machines are also reliable and very nice. As you can notice, I’m a big Babylock fan.

They have the best sergers on the market thanks to the jet-air automatic threading and thread delivery. These features eliminate tensions all together.

But the main focus of these Babylock Jazz reviews is the Jazz machine. It’s a quilting and sewing machine that offers a joyful and effortless sewing experience.

The effortless sewing experience is enabled by the 12-inch workspace to the right of the needle and the high motor speed. This baby can sew up to 1,000 SPM.

Also, it’s loaded with 28 built-in patterns, which are great and include a 1-step buttonhole. However, the light is what impressed me the most because I love good lighting.

This baby is packed with 6 built-in LEDs that brighten up the workspace and needle. I also like the stretch stitch capabilities, along with the thread tension dial.

The maximum stitch width is 7mm, while the maximum stitch length goes from 0mm to 4mm. I love their hands-free presser feet. They allow me to keep my hands on my project at all times.

The dial indicator window is great, but I especially like the needle plate with markings in millimeters and inches. Last but not least, I have to mention the heavy-duty metal construction.

Bad Sides of Babylock Jazz

I recently bought the Babylock Jazz sewing machine, and I love it.

It has multiple stitches and works very fast. However, it doesn’t have an automatic needle down feature. This is very important for machine quilting.

I find it simple to create pillowcases, curtains, and other things that just require straight sewing. I’ve tried to do some quilting on it. However, it’s not good.

I don’t like it because I have to manually turn the needle town to keep it in place. This is fixed with the new Babylock Jazz II which I also bought, and I’m beyond pleased with my purchase.

The first model is perfect for larger projects and comes with a lot of features, but the lack of this feature is what made people frustrated and dissatisfied with their purchase.

If you’re going to buy a Babylock, I suggest that you buy the new Babylock Jazz II. It’s loaded with various features and has excellent performance, just like the Babylock Jazz.

One thing I don’t like about this model is the loud buzzing sound of the pedal. I didn’t notice this flaw at the store. Maybe it’s just a bad batch, but it’s not a deal-breaker.

I have also done my research on this machine to see what other consumers have to say about it. I found out that some people find the throat space insufficient.

How to Clean Your Babylock Jazz?

To ensure the perfect operation of your Babylock Jazz II, it’s necessary to keep the essential components sparkly clean at all times. Proper maintenance is the key to longevity.

Please, remember to disconnect your machine from the power supply before you do anything. Remove the plug from the electric outlet and get started with the cleaning process.

1. Raise the needle to its highest state.
2. Remove the bobbin cover and bobbin.
3. Take off the needle plate and bobbin case.
4. Clean the hook area with a lint brush.
5. Use a drop of high-quality sewing machine oil on the hook race.
6. Replace the bobbin case with the projection positioned against the spring.
7. Replace the needle plate.
8. Never use a scratched bobbin case. Otherwise, your upper thread can turn tangled, your needle can break, or the sewing operation can suffer.
