Practice Practice Practice!
Earlier this year I decided I want to pursue photography as a career, which meant I need to LEARN photography. So by no means am I anywhere near ready to start charging anyone, but I did just do my first ever photo shoot with someone other than my kids! (my BFF) We had so much fun and it was so nice to have her to say "do this, try that..... no, that doesn't work!" The weather could not have been nicer, though the wind was a bit strong at times. Anyway..... I wanted to share a few of my favorite shots from the day. If any of you REAL photographers have any feedback for me I would be beside myself delighted to hear your advice!

I'm no authority on photography, but I will say that it looks like a totally fun and girly day. The best kind of day.

These photos are so gorgeous, independently of the fact that your model is too!
ReplyDeleteI really love the photos! There are some really unique images & I really like the one by the water & the one that looks like a meadow & your bff is looking up. Very interesting angles.
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job! Working as a photographer can be really fun. I'm actually trying to get away from it at the moment.

These are better shots than my wedding photos...(I'm not kidding!!)Well Done
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm a new follower and I love photography too. You are a photographer, your photos are beautiful & your BFF is stunning, what will change is your eye for a great composition, and you will learn all the in's and outs of your camera, and push it to it's ability and that's practice, practice, practice! But remember, you are a photographer!! {www.hootphotography.com}
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the wonderful encouragement you guys! I tried to message back individually, but if you didn't hear back from me you have your email blocked and I can't :(
ReplyDeleteUm...I think you should charge. :)
ReplyDeleteAMAZING!!!! You did a pretty kick butt job for your 1st shoot! You go girl!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow. These look great. I like all of them, but I especially love the sunbeam-y one. And, unrelated, but where did you get that woven blanket? I love that, too!
ReplyDeleteHeidi- Your email is blocked so I can't respond to you directly, I hope you see this here..... The blank is even more amazing in person. It's from Pier One and I think she got it a few years back so not sure if it's still available. I've had my eye on it and thought about recreating it several times.
ReplyDeleteSo SO beautiful! I love every picture! I think the 3rd on is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteGirl, these photos are AhH-mazing! I especially love the b&w on the bench in front of the tree. I am totally going to have to try being more creative with my photography. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYou did an awesome job! I'd hire you. Simply beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think these photos are amazing! Keep it up. Take pictures of whatever makes you happy. Start a portfolio if you really want to get into it as a career! I love photography and wish I could do it more but I feel like my camera is not up to my standard. All I know is keep it up!! :) Don't ever let it become work, just make it enjoyable!
ReplyDeleteCome check out my blog, I'm just starting out and could always use advice! :)
