Happy Friday. We are expecting a large snow storm tonight, first one of the year here, which always makes me want to hunker down and watch a holiday movie marathon. I thought I would share with you the movies I watch every year, and maybe you have some to add to my ritual. I know there are a ton of classics that are not on my list. I enjoy A Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street every couple of years, but every year I MUST watch these movies.....
In no particular order
- Elf (with Will Ferrel)
- A Christmas Story ♪You'll shoot your eye out!♪
- The Grinch (with Jim Carrey, yes the original is good too, but I love the new one!)
- The Family Stone (I've already watched it twice this season)
- Rudolph (because my husband insists!)
- Home Alone (which is only on HBO so far this year, come on!)\

That's a really good list. I would like to add "Prancer" and "Miracle on 34th Street". And maybe "While you were sleeping" too.
ReplyDeleteI just started a Christmas movie marathon myself - I'm going for at least one a day until Christmas Day! Hooray for Christmas classics! :)
ReplyDeleteOh what fun...we always watch A christmas story too! I know it's not really a christmas movie but my little boy is wanting to go see The Yogi Bear movie coming out Dec. 17th, so were really excited about that!
ReplyDeleteDaisy~
I love Christmas movies as well. Deck the Halls is turning into a classic at our house. Along with A Christmas Story of course.
ReplyDeleteChristmas Vacation and Love Actually
ReplyDeleteHey, Taylor, that reminds me, lets go see that new movie...hhmmm name??
ReplyDeleteIt's about Broadway dancers, it has Cher in it. The one where the woman moves and want to tget a job at this show, but she doesn;t get hired, then she sings, and Cher is blown away.
MUST SEE THAT MOVIE> {said with a zombie voice}
If you want, I will sing jingle bells in the way to the movie if it helps make it festive!!
You are my best movie date!
Love, Mom
both my babies are now in college... so the Mr. and I watched Rudolph by ourselves this year. But I have to admit... elf is the best, I grin from ear to ear when I see the toy department full of snowflakes!
ReplyDeleteChristmas Vacation is a must for me! Christmas Story is my husband's family tradition to watch on Thanksgiving night. Watched Elf(another fav) and sat working my booth at a craft fair last night quoting lines with my daughter and laughing! "What's a Christmas Gram...I want one!!!"
ReplyDeleteI never miss the 24hour marathon of "A Christmas Story" on TBS.
ReplyDeleteMiracle on 34th Street & White Christmas are my 2 must see's then The Polar Express is inching its way up my list of faves too....
ReplyDeleteIt's A Wonderful Life is a must watch in our home!I like Serendipity and The Holiday for good chick flick Holiday movies too. My kids watched Home Alone over and over again when they were little, but it still makes me laugh!
ReplyDeleteI love watching Family Man with Nicholas Cage even though it's not really a Christmas movie per se, however it does have Christmas in it. It's just a sweet and romantic movie for me.
ReplyDeleteAlso love Christmas Vacation!!!
Christmas Vacation for sure and the Christmas Story marathon! I haven't seen Elf so that'll be on the list this year.
