Redi Shade Review and GIVEAWAY! Not just for windows!

I was recently asked by Redi Shade to put their Simple Fit custom size product to the test.  As I wondered around the house trying to decide which window to put one of their sleek beautiful shades on I realized what I really wanted to do was hide the craft closet in the craft room/ guest bedroom Galoshes and I are working on re-doing. With the new custom size shade options you can fit them to any opening that has at least a 2 inch frame around it so it doesn't matter if your window (or doorway in our case) is an unusual shape, Simple Fit has custom sizes to the .08 inch!

Here is the before of the closet.
And the after!
Much better! Want to know how long it took to get from before to after? Less than two minutes! Actually once I was done reading the directions installation literally took about 30 seconds!  Even better, it required zero tools! You will not believe how easy this is.

After measuring the closet door opening I ordered the Simple Fit shade in the cream/ black out option.  I wanted to make sure it really hid everything and we wouldn't be able to see through it.  I was amazed at how fast it arrived.

I unpacked the shade and held it up to the opening for a dry fit.  Everything looked good so now all I had to do was peel the protective sheet off each end.
Position...
And push the trigger button.

The pressure foot pops out and secures the sticky foam on each end.  I immediately pulled the shade up and down a few times thinking this thing had to fall right out, that was just to easy.  But it's totally secure! Galoshes (who was snapping the photos) and I were both in complete awe.  That was easy!  Not only was it easy, but it looks (and feels) great! The shade goes up and down (and anywhere in between) with total ease.  The material is high quality and feels like it will be very durable.

If you want to see a short video of the installation in action here is one by Simple Fit .

I will order a Simple Fit shade again.  The website was very user friendly, but if you prefer to buy in person you can find them at Costco and now at Macy's.  Amazon also carries them and I'm a big fan of Amazon!

Win one!
Thanks to Redi Shade, one lucky MJ&G reader will get to try one out free! Just head over to their FB page and "like" them! Don't have a FB account?  You can still enter, just head over to the Simple fit website then come back and tell me what you would do with your shade!

Giveaway ends October 25th. Winner will be chosen at random.  Open to US residents only (sorry, that's all they ship to at this time!)

What a great idea for the closet! I have a room that bakes in the south west setting sun so the room darkening or black out shade would be best for us. Looks great.

I would use it for my daughters window because they broke their blinds so they don't go up and down anymore. So they can never enjoy a nice day! =)

Gosh this is an idea I had never thought of before! I have slider doors on several of my closets that are hard to open and this is a great solution!!

I love these blinds. So very affordable and easy to install. It would be hard to choose where to use one. My kids room needs a darkening shade for sure. But I love the idea for closets!

This is EXACTLY what I need for my odd-shaped window in my master bath. That's where I would use the shade. I'm sure my neighbors are sick of seeing me naked. LOL.

We recently purchased a home, and all of my windows are still bare. However, I like the closet idea. We have a closet in our spare bedroom that is door-less. One of these would be great to hide all of my craft supplies.

I have been looking for something to put up in our living room. It's about 10 feet off the floor and an odd shape that no store bought ones will fit. I don't want to drill holes into the wall or window molding so this would be perfect. The black out blind will allow us to sit in our living room and watch tv without the bright sun shining right in our eyes. Very nice product.

This was incredibly easy! When we were ready to put it up, neither husband was needed! No drill, no hammer, no glue. It just snapped into place with such ease I was SO impressed! Why haven't I ever heard of these shades before?? I am HOOKED!!
What a wonderful company and product!

I like redi shade on facebook! Thanks for the great giveaway! My son really needs a light filtering shade in his window, not only for the sun but for the street light right outside, too!

I love these shades. Thanks for sharing. I think I would use mine for my sliding glass door. But I would love to have them in my bedroom if they keep out light. My hubby sleeps in the daytime and it would be great just to open up the windows during the mornings and late evenings.

I would love to start in my bedroom and go around the entire house replacing Grandma's 1950's window coverings!

Oh I love this! I was going to use a roller shae type thing for a laundry area that was behind 2 doors but this is a better product so would love to do this instead! Doors are already off the hinges and ready to have the shade put up. :)

I have a really, really difficult situation with my windows -- there are metal parts inside the window frames, so i can only install outside -- NOT a good solution for shades! I've wanted these shades since I saw the installation video -- such a fabulous idea for those of us who are still afraid of the big, scary power drill!
Thanks for the chance at this very nice giveaway.

Wow, they look so easy to install! I would try one in our workout room. The sun really heats the small room up, and I keep putting off getting a window covering for it.
    These look great!

I would put this is my daughters room. I like to block out all the sunlight possible so she sleeps longer.

That's a great idea to put it on the closet! I could totally do that in my spare bedroom. We had that horrible 2 sliding door set-up, where one overlaps the other...I hate that because I like to be able to see everything at once, so we took them down and now I have nothing hiding my junk! :)

I love your idea and that is exactly what I'd do. I took the closet doors off in our guest room to put in a desk but it gets messy so I'd love to hide it when guests come!
