Packaging Your Goods

I love packaging.  My first time shopping at Create and Barrel I fell in love a little more when they packaged my goods in lime green tissue and the cutest box with a handle.  I didn't even need to wrap it when I gave the gift! You hear people talking about packaging their handmade goods a lot, we're all looking for good ideas on how to make our packages a little more special.  So I thought I would share a couple quick shots of my packaging.  Though I must admit that I change it up on a package by package basis depending on what item is being packaged. 
I use the book pages from all the book cover projects to make little envelopes. I typically use raffia over ribbon.  My goods always go into a cello sleeve inside what ever outside package I used.  Now that I'm posting this I realize I should have taken more pictures of what goes INSIDE this cute little package!  Here is another version.
Tissue paper is always a good choice.  A fun tag works double as a cute accent and a free gift!

  1. Darling! I use to work at a store that would pride themselves on the gift wrap. We had brown paper, twine and a piece of Eucalyptus. Boy if it wasn't perfect you had to do it again and sometimes again.

  2. I'm mostly a gift bag recycler (hey, waste not want not ;-)) but I love these ideas. Saw something similar on the Martha Stewart show a long time ago. Simple, shabby chic, classy.

  3. Now I feel like a slacker! I put all of my jewelry in an organza bag (they are also in a zip lock bag with anti-tarnish strip). I love your packaging!

  5. I love cello bags with a little crinkle paper in the bottom. I like to use a nice ribbon with a tag that reflects what is in the bag. A handmade card too...LOL!

  6. Packaging gifts is probably more fun for me than making them! In fact, I use it to cover up the fact that my gift is probably cheap! Cellophane and I are madly in love.

  12. Super cute...I love raffia and I've never tried it on top of ribbon, I'll have to try that because I feel like it breaks on me too easily! I recently bought an handmade bracelet at an art show and the bag it came in was handmade from newspaper. I was totally impressed and haven't had the heart to discard it yet, it's just too cute!
