Take ugly 80's thrift store finds like these.
Some gorilla glue and silver spray paint..... Voila!
I ended up using the candle stand upside down, it just seemed to balance better that way with the cheese dome. Don't be afraid to flip things over and see how they look! Enjoy!

Add CommentThis is great! I need to find some of the domes. I have done the candlesticks with plates or ceramic quiche pans, but I have,nt tried anything with a dome yet. Great job:)
Clever and cute!
Super cute! You would never know that they were suppose to be together. And they look great in silver!
Love it, and the color choices are endless!
I am cracking up. I JUST bought this exact cheese dome at my goodwill yesterday. Was thinking of using it for display and now I know what direction to go in! Too funny.
Love it!

OH GREAT Taylor......now we will NEVER find those cheese domes at the thrift stores!! LOL!!
I wonder if we can buy stock in used cheese domes?
Love, Mom
So crazy that you posted this! I found these exact domes at my Goodwill and dressed them up almost the same way! I posted about it on my blog last week: http://ellebelleblog.blogspot.com/2010/08/one-year-old-in-flash-dessert-table.html
So smart. I'm doing this.
